My personal story
Life, Faith, Promise
Ciao! I am a missionary with a church in northeastern Italy. After graduating in the spring of 2020 from Charleston Southern University, I spent the fall semester in Montebelluna, Italy, at a Calvary Chapel bible college to draw closer to the Lord and to better ascertain His direction for the next few years of my life. I have always had a heart for the nation of Italy, and God utilized the time I was there to grow my passion for reaching these people and to open up opportunities for me to serve there. I spent the following spring semester back in Montebelluna as an intern with Calvary Chapel Montebelluna and the associated Bible College. During this time, God confirmed the calling He had on my life for this season and opened the doors for me to return the fall of 2021 as a full-time missionary.

Being a missionary in Italy may sound unusual at first, but it is a nation that is in desperate need of hearing the pure Gospel of Christ. In Italy, only about 1.4% of the population consists of born-again, evangelical Christians. While predominately Catholic, most Italians are Catholic in name only. It has become cultural and is a tradition rather than a truly lived-out faith. Further, most Italians consider evangelical Christianity to be a cult. Thus, there is a certain amount of disconnect between the Catholic faith in Italy and Christianity. Jesus is very lost among the saints and the traditions. Our ministry is to bring Jesus to the people of Italy – to connect them to the work He did on the cross for them. Although the older generations are highly skeptical, the younger generations are beginning to be interested and are open to hearing about this “religion” that preaches Christ crucified.

God has given me a passion for His Word. In today's world, a love and respect for the inerrancy and integrity of the Bible is desperately needed. I pray that as God gives me opportunities to preach His message of salvation to the lost in Italy that He also continues to provide me with the ability to teach His Word and disciple His people. This leads me to the ministries I am specifically involved with here in Italy!

Calvary Chapel Montebelluna

Calvary Chapel Montebelluna, which was planted in 1996, sits between the foothills of the Dolomites and the infamous city of Venice and ministers to many people in the nearby towns surrounding it. It is through this church that I am able to live in Italy and partner in the work that God has begun here. It is a blessing to both serve my brothers and sisters in this congregation and to serve the community alongside them. My work is highly relational in this capacity. Throughout the week, I serve by building relationships with the youth, college group, and adults at the church, using God's Word and the Holy Spirit to pour into their lives. The Lord has also given me unique opportunities to disciple individuals in the church simply through the various ministries I am serving within. As Covid-19 restrictions have lifted now, it has been easier to finally establish more relationships with people in the community and seek opportunities to share the gospel in a more evangelistic sense.

CCBC Italy

Associated with CC Montebelluna is Calvary Chapel Bible College Italy. Each fall and spring, we welcome students from all over the world to participate in studying Scripture and serving on the mission field. This is another significant portion of my ministry in Italy. I live alongside the students, assisting them in their academics, ministry areas, and personal growth. God has given me a love for teaching and discipleship. It is such a joy to get to pour into the lives of the students who attend the bible college. Our desire is for God to fill them with His Holy Spirit and for them to grow in zeal for serving God wherever He calls them to go.
